Our First 8th Grade Grant goes to JOHNATHAN DORRMANN, sponsored by his Dad, Robert Dorrmann(Ret. L40
My name is Johnathan Dorrmann, I am an eighth grade student and I am going to Our Lady of Lourdes High School in the fall. My dad is a retired FDNY firefighter from Ladder 40. I have always been inspired by the bravery, discipline, and community dedication shown by my dad. Throughout middle school, I have worked hard to earn good grades. I maintained myself on the high honor roll while staying actively involved in the Civil Air Patrol and local firefighting cadet programs. In these programs I am building skills to protect and help others. Outside of my cadet training, I also push myself physically by playing lacrosse, and participating in other sports. I am honored to receive this award, which will support my academic and athletic journey at Lourdes, and I will continue to work hard to make my family and the department proud.
2nd 8th grade GRANT

Dear FDNY Steuben Association,
I’m Ryan Weltner, and I have a vast amount of appreciation for being chosen by the FDNY Steuben Association. This will help me a great deal when it comes to my education. I’ll be going to Connetquot High School in Bohemia next year. I love to program computers in the coding language called Python, and I can make games and relatively simple things. I’m also a Black Belt in karate at Dragon Gate Martial Arts Academy and I help teach.

I am currently in 8th grade at the Latin School at Kellenberg and plan to continue my education there. I am involved in several clubs, including Blue and Gold and the Junior National Honor Society. I am the oldest of four children.
